In Kingdom living, nothing is more important than assurance of everlasting life, where all your worries are surrendered to God. If you repent of your sins and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you become saved from eternal damnation.

Jesus Christ said being born again is the only way you can be a citizen of the Kingdom of God. It is about turning from your sins to righteousness. “Born Again” was first used by Jesus in a conversation with Nicodemus in John 3:3.

BECOMING BORN AGAIN

  1. Recognize that you were born a sinner
  2. In Romans 3:23, the Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Genesis 3 says that we have inherited the original sin committed by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. This is echoed in Romans 5:12 in that as sinners, we need salvation.

  3. God has already provided for your salvation
  4. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life,” says John 3:16. Acknowledge that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus as reflected in Romans 6:23.

  5. You cannot pay for the original sin
  6. Romans 5:6 in the Bible says that while you were yet a sinner, Christ died for you. Recognize that God sent His son Jesus to save you. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins as well as that of the entire world as per 1 John 2:2.

  7. Accept that you cannot save yourself
  8. Titus 3:5 says, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to his mercy, he saved us,” and Isaiah 53:5-6 says, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

  9. Recognize that Jesus died for your sins
  10. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved,” says Acts 4:12. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household,” says Acts 16:31.

  11. Surrender your life to Jesus by repenting
  12. “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish,” says Luke 13:3, and Hebrews 3:7-8 says, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness.”

  13. Confess that Jesus is Lord and Saviour
  14. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved,” says Romans 10:13 and Acts 16.31 says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved”. To be justified, Romans 10:9-10 says you need to believe with all your heart that God raised him from the dead.

  15. Say the prayer of salvation
  16. “Dear Jesus, I realize that I am a sinner and I need forgiveness. I believe that you died on the cross for my sake and rose again for my salvation. I repent of my sins and with your grace, I will lead the life you want for me. Come into my heart and give me eternal life. I declare that you are my personal Lord and Saviour. Amen.” Now you are saved!
